“Chez Gustave” sounds charming like French and simply means, “at Gustave”. The term „French“ can be emphasized since Gustave is an entirely French character. He originates from the Southern French Riviera, coming directly from Cannes. It is the location where the movie stars often stroll around (not just during the film festivals) and where his grandma ran the popular hotel and restaurant, “La Couronne d’Or” (The Golden Crown). There, Gustave developed his passion for gastronomy and good food. Gustave‘s father was a culinary model for him as well. He served in the renowned hotel management school, “Paul Augier,” that had been founded in 1914. It is classified as one of the best and oldest hotel management schools throughout France.
